CALCIOPET ORAL SOLUTION

COMPOSITION:

  • Calcium Lactate........................30 mg
  • Excipients C.S.P.........................1 ml

TARGET SPECIES:

Dogs, cats, bovine and poultry.

INDICATIONS:

It is used to treat hypoglycemia and conditions in which the psychological effects of increased plasma Calcium levels are probably beneficial for the animal.

It is indicated for Calcium deficiency for rickets, osteomalacia, valgas ribs, legs type “O”, severely deformed front legs, inflected claws, double bad quality, loss of permanent teeth, gingivitis halitosis and post paralysis, rash, disease serum, pulmonary edema, allergies, etc. It is widely used throughout the growing period after weaning dogs.

DOSE AND ADMINISTRATION:

Take orally or mix with drinking water 0.5 ml/kg body weight, daily and in severe deficiencies, 15 ml/ 3-5 days. Poultry: Add 1ml/liter of water.

STORAGE:

  • Store in dry and cool places. Protected from direct sunlight.
  • Store between 0° and 30°C.

CONTRAINDICATIONS AND RESTRICTIONS:

Unless other drugs are administrated at the same time, that improves Calcium absorption, oral over dosage of Calcium containing products, it is unlikely to cause Hypercalcemia. It should be treated with Calcium retention therapy and other drugs that increase Calcium (for example, vitamin D analogs). Mild Hypercalcemia, usually will be resolved without intervention when renal function is suitable.

The most serious Hypercalcemia (12mg/daily) should generally be treated by hydration with normal Saline Solution intravenously and the administration of a circular diuretic (For example: Furosemide) to increase both the excretion of Sodium and Calcium. Potassium and Magnesium should be monitored and replaced when necessary. The ECG should also monitor during treatment.

Corticosteroids and humans, Calcitonin and Hemodialysis, are also used in the treatment of Hypercalcemia.
